Friday was our 44th wedding anniversary – I don’t
think we have changed much!
Yesterday was also our day to do some shop reconnoitring in
preparation for our visitors next week.
We checked out suitable shopping venues at the DFO, as well as making a
few purchases, before driving to the Yorkeys Knob Boating Club for lunch on the
deck. Some beautifully prepared Spanish
mackerel and king salmon were enjoyed before heading back to Cairns central and Rusty’s Market. After purchasing enough fruit and vegetables
to fill up the frig and fruit bowl, and after showing great self control, we
finally made it to Movenpick for our long awaited ice creams. Well worth the wait!
Today was time to wash the car and as much of the caravan as
possible before it became too hot. This
afternoon we enjoyed a very pleasant walk in the rainforest alongside
Freshwater Creek; many children were enjoying the sunny weather, playing in the
water and fishing. I think the fish
headed straight for the shelter of the rocks.
