Our celebrations last night for David’s birthday was
sadly lacking a birthday cake, but Shan was up to the challenge and found their
Christmas present of bears’ paws and maple leaves, which we quickly arranged on
a tray with a candle from the bathroom. The
bears’ paws were very yummy – chocolate, cashews and chewy, sticky caramel (no
calories, of course).
The weather continues to be very clear – and very cold –
and this morning Dave & Co decided to have a walk around Johnson Lake,
while we had a quiet morning with a walk to the supermarket. Shan and Jack were lucky enough to find a
squirrel, which obviously didn’t know it was supposed to be hibernating.
This afternoon Dave and Jack joined us on a visit to the
cinema to watch the latest Star Wars movie.
We were enjoying the pre-show advertisements showing the skiing
attractions around Banff when the screen froze and the sound continued. Previews of new movies were heard before the
sound ceased and there was a large bang followed by silence. A short while later and lady came into the
theatre, apologised and said there would be a short delay. Once it actually started, we thoroughly
enjoyed the movie and are looking forward to the next one.
As it wasn’t really a photo opportunity day, I have added
some from the previous couple of days.
