Last Friday was another beautiful day, very warm but with little humidity which made conditions far more comfortable.  We enjoyed another walk along the Esplanade (and an ice cream, of course) before another shirt purchase was made for his collection!  After becoming aware that a cruise ship was in port (the large number of very obvious tourists and the market stalls on the Esplanade were good indications), we drove to Yorkey’s Knob for a look.  The Pacific Jewel was anchored well off-shore, with three of the ship’s lifeboats and two Green Island ferries acting as tenders.  After watching the lifeboats bobbing and bouncing through the swell, I have decided that air travel is much preferable to cruising.

Saturday morning was spent undertaking a bit of retail therapy before settling down with the radio and computer for the afternoon’s football matches, especially the Sydney Swans winning game.  On Sunday, the weather did start to break up a bit, with some showers later in the day.  Maureen had purchases a leg of lamb and suggested with have a dinner party, so a full roast meal was followed by chocolate brownies for dessert.

Today, we joined with my cousin, Milton and his wife, Margaret, for a very nice lunch at Barnacle Bill’s.  Milton and Margaret have just returned from a trip to Cape York and appreciating a few days of rest and recuperation in Cairns before returning south.  There was much talking and waving of arms during lunch as we compared travel notes, much to the amusement of the very pleasant waitress.  After lunch, with the weather starting to look a bit damp, we stopped at the Chinese Friendship Garden to introduce Milton and Margaret to the dogs before delivering them back to their caravan.

It will be very light meals for the remainder of the week!
