Another week just seems to have slipped by, somehow. Bowls last Tuesday evening was another
success, with my team winning second prize.
Edge Hill have recently laid a new surface, which is much more user
friendly and runs about 14 seconds as compared to 18 seconds last year.
We had a couple of proper outings this week, one to the
Botanic Gardens on a very hot day – it was very pleasant wandering under the
trees and there always seems to be something different flowering. We also had a drive to Palm Cove, which was
surprisingly very busy and very windy.
Far too windy, in fact, to actually walk along the sand. For the first time ever, we saw the stinger
warning flag flying and we amazed that about a dozen people were actually
swimming, totally ignoring the warning – and the crocodiles!
We enjoyed a farewell lunch at Cazaly’s today with Jenny and
Brian before they head to the Tablelands tomorrow. Afterwards, we made the usual donation to
Cazaly’s funds, although Himself did manage to bring home a large handful of
washing machine money!
The weather has continued fine and hot, although the last
couple of nights have been rather cool with the temperature dropping to around
the 15 degree mark.
