3rd July 2019 - not much difference

Time flies – we have been in Cairns for nearly two weeks!  It is also becoming harder to remember what we did each day!!

Friday was the day for some retail therapy and to assist the Cairns economy (lots of sales on at the moment), followed by a much anticipated visit to our favourite massage therapists in Cairns.  Saturday it RAINED, definitely rained before clearing to a magnificent Sunday, just perfect for a walk along the Esplanade and the marina.  Not forgetting the ice cream, of course.  On our way back to the caravan park, we came across a market at The Tanks, so did a quick u-turn and a slow crawl to find a parking spot.  Not your average market…  Very alternative; we could have saved just about anything on the planet (except for the whales?); received all types of alternative massages (I don’t think some even touched the body); eaten all types of foods (many of unknown origin) but plenty to keep the vegans fed; even came across a lady who stated that she moved in and out of her body!  Presume she was “in” at the time.

Monday morning was a bit damp again but the weather did clear, so a walk to Crystal Cascades was an enjoyable way to spend an hour or so.  There appeared to be much more water than we are used to seeing, no doubt because of the weekend rainfall, and we were lucky enough to spot a Ulysses butterfly.  Unfortunately, the misty rain returned for our walk back to the car, but it was still very warm and humid.  Tuesday night was the usual game of bowls and I came home with the winner’s purse – very nice, although someone is saying he let me win.

Today is our 48th wedding anniversary and we travelled to Palm Cove for a walk along the esplanade/beach before a most enjoyable lunch at the Reef House Resort.
