Road to Cobar

Friday, 8 June 2012

We must be getter further north (or east) because the weather warmed up a bit today. Broken Hill was cloudy, but we soon drove out from under the clouds and had clear, blue skies all the way to Cobar.

Not much happened on the way to Cobar, apart from seeing lots of emus, some kangaroos, and thousands of feral goats. The road was good – flat and straight most of the way, with one straight measuring over 50 kms in length.

It was necessary to refuel at Wilcannia when we arrived just before noon, but as our stomachs were still on Broken Hill time, we decided to drive until the next nice rest area before having lunch. We have now been to Wilcannia.

The caravan park at Cobar is very nice, with large sites, double concrete slab and newly renovated amenities. The new owners have been working very hard to improve the park and are doing a good job.

No photos today, so will add a couple more of Broken Hill.
