The days just seem to disappear – we have been busy catching up on all the shopping and odd jobs that seem to have accumulated during the past six weeks, as well as checking out all the likely shopping venues for the rellies arriving next Tuesday.  On Friday night we enjoyed the first of this season’s sausage sizzles at the caravan park and spent an enjoyable evening getting to know our close neighbours.

Saturday, the weather broke a bit, with some light showers to increase the humidity.  We enjoyed a long walk along the foreshore, strolled through the Saturday market and then discovered that Movenpick now open much earlier in the day – there went all the benefits of the long walk!

Today is our 45th wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a lovely lunch at Barnacle Bill’s (no need to cook an evening meal today!), followed by a walk through the Flecker Botanical Gardens.  The new orchid house/conservatory is now open, which added to the pleasure of the gardens.  We always seem to find something different in flower when we visit, even spotting a Cairns birdwing butterfly as we were leaving.  However, the butterfly wasn't as big as the grasshopper which came to visit us!
