Thursday, 10th June
Our final day in Alice Springs was spent preparing for the journey north to Katherine and Alice Springs. As the temperature should increase rapidly in the next couple of days, we took the opportunity to swap the winter wardrobe for our summer wardrobe. The clothing bags were retrieved from under the bed and decisions were made as to how many windcheaters would be required for the next few months (hopefully, very few!). A final load of laundry was done before we headed for the supermarket to stock up the refrigerator and cupboards. It will probably be a week before we see another “proper” supermarket. The water tanks have been topped up and we will be ready to roll first thing tomorrow.
Our next two nights will be at Wycliffe Well and then Banka Banka Station – we may have mobile/broadband coverage at Wycliffe Well, but definitely none at Banka Banka.
