Ye Olde Mill at Montville |
Very hot and sunny
today, with the temperature around the 30 degree mark.
After spending some
considerable time in the laundry doing the ironing this morning, we headed
south to Mooloolaba and the Bowlers Paradise shop for a browse through the new
season’s shirts. A couple did manage to
follow us out of the shop.
After this, it was
off to the village of Montville up in the hills behind the Sunshine Coast .
For the first time ever, Doris became
completely confused and missed a turn; it is not easy doing a u-turn on the Bruce Highway ! We eventually arrived at the top of the hill
after a steep drive (quite thankful we weren’t towing the caravan) and were
amazed that the temperature actually climbed as we did. Montville
is very touristy but quite lovely, with a number of nice eating places and lots
of little shops to poke about in. We did
our bit for the Montville
economy.
We had some
beautiful views of the Sunshine
Coast as we descended the
mountain, but unfortunately it was very hazy and smoky – no doubt there are
some fires about in this weather.
