Thursday was a day to rest and recuperate, as well as catch up on a bit of housework (which never seems to go away).  With the temperature hovering around the 30 degrees mark again, the shade under the awning was very welcome.

The temperature did drop a bit today, Friday, only reaching 24 degrees and with some high cloud making it seem cooler.  This morning we decided to call into the Qantas Founders Museum and, although we had been there some years ago, decided to enter the museum as there are a few new exhibits, but did give the Boeing 747 tour a miss.  We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours, and especially liked the two films detailing the founding of Qantas.

After lunch, we took a short drive to the Thomson River on the outskirts of Longreach, with about 75 caravans and motorhomes in a free camp area on its banks.  This area had also suffered from very deep mud after the recent rains.
