Sunday morning was fairly quiet, with someone sleeping in until quite late – muttered something about a stressful Saturday and being tired! Shortly after lunch, Jenny and Brian arrived and after they had set up on their site the remainder of the afternoon was spent socialising and inspecting their new Bushtracker caravan and tow vehicle. The weather continued to be very humid and overcast.



Monday morning, Himself thought about washing the back of the caravan and Cat weeded our garden of basil and spring onions – this seemed to fill in the morning for both of them! After lunch today, Maureen and James arrived, but we had seen their caravan before. We all met at our caravan for afternoon coffee, which continued at Jenny and Brian’s caravan for happy hour and we were ideally situated for the sausage sizzle (provided by the camp owners) as we were right next to the camp kitchen. While we were waiting for the sausages and onions to cook, one of the resident curlews came to visit and ate half a packet of biscuits. This poor bird has a broken leg but seems to manage quite well. The wildlife carers attempted to catch him, but after saying they would euthanise the bird, the camp owners decided to let him be. He is obviously very well fed and seems to cope okay. About this time, it started to rain – very nearly a tropical downpour. After eating our free sausages, coleslaw, onions, cheese and bread, I produced an apple crumble – my first dessert in the turbo oven.
