Sunday Morning

Sunday, 1 August

Late yesterday, the clouds increased and darkened, then we actually had some rain during the evening. As well as needing to lower the hatches due to the rain, we also had to shut all the windows to try and deaden the noise of some very cheerful and vocal campers in the immediate vicinity – they were obviously unaware of the 10.00 pm quiet time! Needless to say, it did become a touch warm inside the caravan.

This morning we awoke to thunder and very threatening skies, but decided to participate in the planned game of bowls – scroungers turned out to be very similar to what we know as consistency. I think 95% of the bowlers were tourists – this is the time of the year that the bowling club generates its annual income. We enjoyed the game – and comparing experiences with fellow travellers – although it did take a few ends to adjust to the synthetic surface.

Very windy this afternoon and I know all you southerners will be sympathetic to know that the temperature only reached 23 degrees today.

Today’s photo is of a couple of brolgas.
