We left Brisbane yesterday
morning – after receiving a friendly reminder from the Brisbane Holiday
Village that we were to
be gone by 10.00 am – for the relatively short drive to Maroochydore. Being a public holiday, traffic was fairly
light for the first half of the journey and then thickened considerably. No doubt the sunny, warm weather was
encouraging people to head for the beach.
We are staying at Maroochy
Palms Caravan
Park and were surprised
to find only about twelve caravans here; the property is rapidly being converted
to a “lifestyle residential complex” and caravan sites have been reduced in
number and the camping area is non-existent.
Apart from a quick trip to Sunshine
Plaza , the remainder of
the afternoon was spent replacing the winter clothes with the summer clothes
and enjoying the warmth and sunshine.
Today and it was time for some “me time,” with one settling
down with the newspaper and the other heading to Sunshine Plaza
for a bit of maintenance. With the
temperature hovering around 25 degrees, we decided to head to the Buderim
Ginger Factory at Yandina (a favourite of Cat) and the macadamia factory
opposite.
With over 70 television channels, and two remote controls,
Himself is in seventh heaven! Someone
has also declared that our bathroom scales, which have just been resurrected
from the cupboard, are in serious need of adjustment.
