Mistakenly thinking that Wednesday at Eumundie Market would
be quieter than Sunday, we set off for the 30 minute drive north. We found the markets without any trouble
(thanks, Doris), paid our $5 parking fee and
joined the many others wandering around the stalls for the next couple of
hours. A new hat and a linen jacket did
find their way into our bags and we could have spent much more money and cured
all our aches, pains and hunger without any trouble. There was plenty of cheesecloth clothing and
alternative therapies on offer. Probably a good place to visit before heading to Byron Bay. The
afternoon was spent checking out the specials at Sunshine Plaza
– Himself found a couple of shirts which he desperately needed.
Today (Thursday) was our planned day to visit Bowlers
Paradise for a few necessary purchases – a shirt, and a vest on order, for him,
short pants and a new measure for her.
There was also lots of umming and aahing about not needing a new set of
bowls, but perhaps a roll-up wouldn’t hurt.
Needless to say, it only took one end!
We also took the opportunity while at Mooloolaba to drive out to Point
Cartwright Lighthouse, with its spectacular views – what we could see through
the murky conditions.
The weather hasn’t been the best the last couple of days,
although yesterday was okay until late afternoon. We had heavy rain and wind overnight, and
that has continued today, with intermittent showers and also very blowy. The temperature has also been a little
cooler, only being in the low 20’s.
