Friday, it rained – it most definitely rained!  We spent a quiet morning, catching up on little jobs and making a cake ready for afternoon tea.  The afternoon was spent socialising with some members of our bowls club who are staying at Alexandra Headlands, as well as Gladys and Graeme, who also happened to be staying in the same park.  We spent a very pleasant few hours catching up on news – and watching the rain – and partaking of a very pleasant afternoon tea.

Saturday, the rain continued early but did become intermittent showers during the day.  With no fine days forecast until the end of the week, we decided to visit Montville anyway, even though it would most likely be even wetter in the hills.  We were very lucky and only had a few showers while we were there and we managed to either be in a restaurant or shops at the time.  A lot of other people also decided to visit Montville today – it is a lovely village, completely and utterly touristy with lots of little shops to browse.  If we had felt inclined, we could have bought a complete new wardrobe of brightly coloured, stretchy garments with uneven hems, plenty of beads, earrings and scarves to adorn said garments, filled our house with useless but pretty nick-nacks, decorated our Christmas tree, gained spiritual enlightenment and discovered what the future held for us.  If visiting Montville, I would not recommend the Montville Gourmet Gelato – after one lick, mine became compost at the base of the nearest shrub!  Our return drive was via the Mary Cairncross Park, with its wonderful views to the Glasshouse Mountains.
